"An unusual idea falls down from the sky"
Here we are with another year that has literally flown by. I can say that many of you are glad to see it go!! The year has been filled with a lot of trial and tribulations that the world has felt to different degrees and 2009 appears to be similar; but, there are some things predicted below that will give us a reason to at least be a little more optimistic. I can't say that all of our predictions are positive, however, in life good and bad come hand in hand.  Global / International Interests As always the threat of terrorism is an on going battle. However we do see that a terror plot will be thwarted at the 11th hour due to heightened intelligence reports. This will re-instate alerts world wide.
A government over thrown will bring concerns regarding the faction that has taken over.
Two very unlikely allies joining forces in 2009 will be of great concern to the US and other surrounding countries; especially, as to the true reasons behind their new union. This is one element of serious concern in the future.
A large concern will be over the advancement of nuclear testing with countries to which the US does not have good relationships with. Korea is one country to watch as a nuclear incident occurs and brings to light the depth of their advancements.
We'll also see the collapse of a major financial market. This will constitute a restructuring of the money and banking system in the country affected.
China
will continue to be scrutinized for products containing poisonous substances.
The threat of a new war being in the background of the Middle East looms large in the coming months.
A health discovery or break through will be aiding in the treatment of either Parkinson's or MS- helping to slow the physical effects on the body. This proves to be extremely affective.
The death of a prominent female figure showing no signs of health problems will be a power transition for the country she represents.
We will also see the loss of an ailing male figure in 2009.
Weather is always an interesting subject to predict so in our usual fashion we can not ignore the earth's ever changing patterns.
Globally we will see several events that some areas have not experienced. Volcanic eruptions will be in more than one location through out Europe especially with volcano's that have had no activity for a long period of time.
Weather patterns seem to be a big issue in 2009. What is typical for some regions will dramatically change.
We also saw a lot of water events for 2009. One event was a dam breaking & leaving destruction in its path. Tsunami and even hurricanes come out of no where.
Earthquake activity shows large scale events with structural damages. Domestic /
National Events As we come into 2009 with a new president taking power a lot of the country is anticipating what will be the priority to correct our current state depression in the domestic United States.
One of the immediate predictions we've seen is programs being implemented creating employment opportunities nationally to lesson our overwhelming unemployment problem.
Programs helping Americans to re-establish a credit worthiness to stimulate the economy is another item that showed strongly.
Health care will be another element added to make sure that care is provide not limiting anyone due to affordability.
An interesting prediction that came through was how much of an impact that Hilary Clinton will have in changes we see over the next few years.
Government will be very active in overseeing the auto and bank bailout funds going to the use it was marked for. However we will see a public ally expose deception with both bailout programs.
We will still see a struggling national
economy through the end of the first quarter 2009.
States across the country will still be on the verge of bankruptcy due to unemployment, housing market foreclosures and a slow process of rebuilding.
A new source for gas and or oil being discovered will help to free the US from our dependency on foreign oil sources.
2009 does show the US continuing to make progress with the war in Iraq. However we do not see a withdrawal of troops this year.
A communications system or satellite will be compromised causing grave concern to our national security system.
A construction defect will be cause of a collapse of a notable building or structure revealing a design flaw that was purposely overlooked.
In the area of science we will see some interesting discoveries this year from a technology stand point.
We also will see with our naked eye a new star in the sky. Solar flares are very active this coming year as well. A new moon referencing a change in our entire solar system is as one of the discoveries we will see.
A large asteroid hitting the earth this year leaving behind a large crater of confirmation behind as it's proof.
I can't forget the national weather activity. We have a whole bunch of events this year.
We have already seen a huge change in our weather patterns from east to west this winter. This is appearing to be more of a permanent shift. We will continue to see this over the next few years. Expect the unexpected.
Wind and water events in the year will hammer the US. We will see an extended hurricane cycle reaching more inland areas than ever. Tornados are the other odd occurrence we will experience.
We can not forget fires that will no longer have a season just a rage that knows no boundaries.
A couple earthquakes
will hit in 2009. The east will have activity in old fault lines. Local / Las Vegas, Nevada Unfortunately
we don't see an immediate improvement to our struggling local economy.
The real estate market does show improvement and activity. We will still see foreclosure fall out. This appears to be the remainder of the 2008 fall out. This may not be finished until late 2009.
Due to a business partnership coming into the Las Vegas area we will see some of our large construction projects get back on track. This will definitely have a positive impact on our strip and off strip development.
State and local budget are still going to be a problem to solve as revenue sources continue to stay limited. Minimal liquid funds remain unavailable.
Late to mid summer 2009 does show increased revenue to our local economy helping our short fall fund problems.
A mineral discovery in the State will have an added boost to revenue and job possibilities.
One of our newly constructed hotel casino towers will show a sign that it is leaning to one side. It will be discovered that the land the property sits on is shifting dramatically underneath.
Locally we will see a man in power imprisoned for his illegal activities.
We will also see another person of prominence linked to a serious scandal that will jeopardize his position.
A woman linked to being a benefit to the state will move from behind the scenes into a position of power.
