INTERNATIONAL INSIGHTS
One of the major concerns seems to be the continued unrest in the Middle East. The recent assassination of Bhutto will set
off additional concerns of other Political assassinations being possible throughout the region.
Where the country of Iran has been quite for now, they’re going to continue to be watched for the closer relationships
that they’re developing with Russia, especially relating to a nuclear arms program.
It’ll also appear that Iraq is incapable of ruling the country alone as supporters of the war lose the battle to leave
American Troops in the country. A pull out should begin in early 2009.
The water way between England and France will have a significant amount of damage which will require a long-term time repair
with economic effects.
China and their business practices will come under more fire for short cuts that have jeopardized countless lives as well
as their own economy.
Weather is also going to be a big area internationally in 2008. Italy may experience a 6.0 or more earthquake.
Mexico has a lot of seismic activity as well as water events likely.
One of the countries thriving in 2008 will be Canada as they will open doors to positive financial gains with the US.
Finally the dollar continues to loose against the Euro and Yen. This impacts all markets across the board.
DOMESTICALLY IN THE US
2008 will continue to be a strain on the national economy as we come into the beginning of the year. Housing and job markets
encompassed with the lack of disposal cash flow for Americans sparks the realization that significant changes are on the horizon.
There’ll be propaganda starting at the end of the first quarter of 2008 stating how wonderful everything is economically
to stimulate interest in the Republican Party leading up to the election. Can we really believe what we hear?
We’re also going to see information slipping into the public’s hands or being leaked to us and this will prove
that there have been acts of improprieties on the part of top ranking Government officials.
The stock market will be on a roller coaster all year so be careful. The ups will also bring unexpected downs. A crash is
likely in 2009. This starts a cycle of consideration to implement a change to a new domestic currency type system away from
the devalued dollar.
We could even see California default on its municipal bond program, if so other cities in the US may follow proving evidence
that we’re in an economic recessions
2009 is a big change universally. Pluto will be going into Capricorn Jan 09 this will continue into Jan 2010. This brings
events of what we’ll call Domestic Terrorism. You can link it to what we would have seen in Y2K but didn’t. The
reason I bring this up now is we have a year to prepare. Computer systems through out the US and World will be compromised.
PROTECT EVERYTHING! We may even hear the term DEPRESSION, Not RESESSION……. FORE WARNED IS FORE ARMED!
We addressed above the problems continuing with China import products. This forces American Companies to look for other outlets
for manufacturing products and brining work back to the US and other countries like Mexico and Canada.
The big thing in 2008 of course is the Presidential election. This article has been typed prior to the caucuses: The person
who is likely to succeed in the 2008 race and has the best chance of being elected is the person who speaks with a platform
that is based on Health related care issues in the US- the out of control budget and financial problems we have domestically
but who’ll stay away from communications involving foreign affairs and issues. So we’ll see who gets the national
nod in November.
A health crisis is one of the things that’s creating a big concern. It appears to be an air borne type exposure that
will cause effects to the bronchial tubes and lungs. It may be considered like TB or something more serious. It will be addressed
and treated in a timely manner.
Problems with food supplies and suppliers are another area that’ll be adversely affected by extreme weather conditions.
Prices will be out of control, and there’ll be some items that will not be available due to ruined crops.
A black-out lasting 4 or more days to one area of the US due to a severed line or supply
of the resource is going to cause a panic for the region hit.
One of the freaky things coming up is a plane crash off the Atlantic coast that weather and lack of visibility may lead to
a collision of two planes. Few if any survivors will be found. This is not a terror event.
Finally our friend Mother Nature will have a few credits to her name in 2008. Wind events, “Tornados”, in the
most unlikely places may surprise towns typically immune. Too little warning will be the cause of quite a bit of damage.
We always have to be cautious of the Ring of Fire. It will be highly active in 2008-2009.
Water events off the coasts of the Pacific and Atlantic could be hitting at the same time so travel may be a problem for on
water type crafts.
The earthquake can not be forgotten Hawaii, California and even the mid-west are in for some rock-n-rolling. throughout 2008.
LOCALLY LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
The big item is the continued failing housing market and the depreciating values along with over stock of inventory. Contrary
to what the news is telling everyone. We may see a slight rebound in Spring of ‘08 until Fall of ‘08 but once
the planet Pluto goes into Capricorn in early ‘09 we will see a 3year down turn. Interest rates may improve slightly
to help, but changes are going to solve the ongoing problem..
We’ll have an upswing in other economic factors that Las Vegas is known for. However even with new venues opening and
creating jobs people will be not be able to get out from under housing problems or even afford one.
It looks like we’ll be getting the professional sports team that Mayor Goodman has been working on. Finally!
Our wonderful Mayor, and I do mean that we LOVE Oscar Goodman, will need to address a non serious health related matter this
year.
A political leader coming under fire will be Governor Gibbons as he’ll continue to be challenged on his policies and
serious talk of impeaching him will gain surprising support and momentum.
A major strip hotel shows a fire from an electrical item. Portions of the main property, as well as, the addition being worked
on will be damaged causing delays in construction and opening.
Northern Nevada shows some booming economic events with large scale projects providing jobs and alternative power sources.
Finally our friend Yucca Mountain may have a shake up that puts the project again under safety hazard alert and questionable
reliability.
